Lever Lock with High Security Core
Available in Satin Chrome, Bright Brass, and Oil Rubbed Bronze.  Can be loaded with an Abloy or BiLock high security core.

Lever Locks

Lever locks are frequently used by businesses on office doors and other inside doors.  Lever locks still contain the locking cylinder on the outside lever, because of this a hammer could still break off the outside lever and allow access to the room.  It is best to use deadbolt locks when there is some possibility of needing to resist forced entry.  Our lever locks are high quality grade 2 lever locks.  They meet ADA and ANSI A117.1 codes that are required for some building installs.  Our lever locks also include a clutch function allowing them to resist force applied directly to the outside handle when locked.  When pressure is applied the lever will simply go limp on the outside, preventing torquing of the lever to force open the door.  Our lever locks also include removable thru bolts, which while add security and physical strength, but are nicely not necessary.  They are also adjustable for doors of thicknesses from 1 and 3/4" to 2".

Lever Lock Function

Lever locks can be setup with one of many functions, the function effects how the lock itself operates.  We stock three different types of functions by default: entry, storeroom, and classroom.  If you need different functionality there are 6 different functions we can provide.  Please contact us for more details.
Entry Function
The inside lever can always be turned to open the lock.  Pushing the thumbturn in on the inside locks the outside lever.  Rotating the inside lever at this point will pop the thumbturn out and leave the outside lever unlocked.  If you would prefer the outside lever always stay locked you can push and turn the inside thumbturn, and then turning the inside lever will not unlock the outside lever.  Outside lever has a keyed lock on it that can be used to unlock the lever as desired.
Storeroom Function
The inside lever can always be turned to open the lock and does not have a thumbturn.  The outside lever is always locked and can only be operated using the key.
Classroom Function
The inside lever can always be turned to open the lock and does not have a thumbturn.  The outside lever can be set to locked or unlocked, but only by the key.

With our Hybrid Knob/Levers you can choose either a BiLock or Abloy core

BiLock

BiLock

BiLock is a high security brand that features a unique Quick Change Core (QCC) system and is based out of Australia. BiLock features a unique U shaped key that utilizes a pin and sidebar system that is extremely pick resistant and completely bump proof making it a popular choice by casinos and businesses around the world. The QCC system from BiLock works in all of their locks and allows for the instant removal of the core of the lock with a control key to allow a new core to be easily inserted. Virtually all of their locks can use the same key and interchangeable QC cores. BiLock has extensive retrofitting and compatibility features allowing it to be used in many existing locking systems. For more details please see our BiLock Brand Information page.

Key Type / System

There are two primary key types/systems for BiLock: EX / QC both are part of the New Generation (NG) BiLock system.  Each key type also influences the build of the lock itself.  Not all locks support all key types, however most locks do support both.  The EX is BiLock's original key type and has no specific features.   The primary key type is BiLock's innovative Quick Change Core (QCC) system. The QCC system is an interchangeable core meaning that in addition to the standard operating keys you have a control key.  With the control key you are able to remove the core of the lock and insert the core from another QC lock (or spare core).  This process can be done in under 30 seconds and without removing the lock from the door or requiring any tools.  Some customers have even used the QC system on their homes and businesses to change out their door locks for sitters, maids, or construction workers. For more details please see our Choosing A Brand page.  Any QC lock will come with one control key and one operating key.   When ordering additional QC keys please specify the key type (control or operating) in the notes field on the final page of checkout (where you enter your credit card) otherwise we will assume they are standard operating keys.   QC cores can be purchased separately on our BiLock Extra QC Core page.   There is no real reason not to get an QCC lock even if you do not plan to use the QC system now you at least have that option for later.   BiLock officially also has the First Gen and EX short / D9 systems, while we do not show these as a product option they are in stock and contact us if you need one of these systems.

Keyed Alike / Master Keying

Master Keying and Keying Alike are both services we are happy to offer however they do require that all the locks are the same key type (EX/Ex Short/QC).

We are able to key your locks alike(to the same key) during ordering at no cost.  We can also master key(see our Master Keying Page) your locks starting at $15 per cylinder.  Keyed alike means that if you order two padlocks and a deadbolt from us we can key them all to operate on the same key.   To order two or more locks keyed alike, just select "keyed alike" under keying for each lock and all locks that are the same color will be keyed the same.  During checkout there will also be a notes area and you can comment on how you want the locks keyed if you wish to provide additional clarification.   It is important to note that when keying alike you do not get more keys for each lock you order, just the initial lock's number of keys.  This means no matter if you order 2 or 5 padlocks keyed alike, you will only get 2 keys total.  If you require additional keys just order extra keys.  There is no additional charge for keying alike.  Master keying can allow you to allow some keys to open some locks and other keys to open all locks. You can specify your desired master keying in the notes area when checking out, or you can simply put a note in to call, and we will call you to discuss your needs.  If you are looking to have locks or keys to a previous order please see our keyed to a previous order page.

Key Look

BiLock keys can have various multi-colored key heads.  The key head is actually made up of two different parts, an inner part and an outer part.  They can be the same or different colors.

Extra Keys

Please note when ordering extra keys you are ordering extra keys per lock.  This means if you select 3 extra keys and then order a quantity of 2 locks you will get 6 extra keys.  To order the correct number of extra keys you can divide the number of extra keys by however many locks you are ordering and put that under extra keys.  The other option for extra keys is to add a quantity of 1 of the item you are ordering to your cart with the correct number of extra keys, and then go back and add however many more of the lock you want with 0 extra keys.  It will mean you have to pick the options for the product twice, but will ensure you get exactly how many keys you want.

Abloy

Abloy

Abloy is one of the most reputable high security lock manufacturers in the world. Abloy is based out of Finland and their current top of the line lock system is the Abloy Protec/Protec2 system. The Abloy Protec system came out in 2001 and features a unique rotating disk based system with a disk blocking anti pick system that is unique to them. It is completely bump proof and extremely pick resistant (no known picking attacks have been successful). It is well respected as one of the top of the line high security locks in the world. It has one of the largest key spaces of any high security system with over 2 billion possible keys. Virtually all Abloy locks can be keyed to work with the same set of keys. The Abloy Protec2 was introduced in December of 2012 and it makes some refinements to the Abloy Protec system. The primary features include minor additional drill resistance, harder to copy keys with an interactive element and an extended patent through 2031. To order locks in the Protec2 system select “Protec 2 Elite” under key profile on the product options. For more details please see our Abloy Brand Information page.

Key Profile / System

Abloy currently has two different systems of locks the Abloy Protec2 and the Abloy Protec.  First you must decide which system you would like to buy, most locks are available in both systems.  For more information on the Protec1 verse the Protec2 please see our Abloy Brand Information page. To order a lock in the Abloy Protec2 you must select a key profile that has the number 2 in its name (ie "Protec2 Elite" or "Ruby2 Exclusive").  Next you have a choice of key profile, the key profile of a lock primarily is an issue of key control.  Legally the Protec Elite and Ruby Exclusive key profiles have the same level of key control, no dealer other than the dealer who originally issued the keys (or the Factory) can cut more keys.  Technically, with the standard Protec Elite key profile, all Abloy Protec/Protec2 dealers in the US have access to this key blank.  This is a slight security risk as it does mean they could duplicate a Protec/Protec2 Elite key if they wanted to (but they would break their contract with Abloy in doing so and we have yet to hear of a dealer doing so).   Our Ruby Exclusive key profile is a key blank that is only issued to us, which removes the option for another Abloy dealer to duplicate your ruby key as they do not have access to the key blanks.  A Protec Elite key will not even fit in a Ruby Exclusive lock.   The Ruby Exclusive is a very secure level of key control giving peace of mind to even the most worried lock owner.   Having an exclusive key profile can also be useful if an eventual attack against the Abloy Protec is found.   While it is hard to speak about something that has not happened, many advanced rights escalation attacks, or advanced attacks against high security locks, require having a key (or key blank) that fits the lock.  With the Ruby Exclusive you will make it harder for an attacker to have access to a fitting key.

Keyed Alike / Master Keying

Master Keying and Keying Alike are both services we are happy to offer however they do require that all the locks are the same key profile (Ruby Exclusive or Protec Elite).

Key Look

Abloy keys have a variety of color inserts that can be selected to help keep track of your Abloy keys from one another.  Below, you are able to pick a color for your key indicators. If you want a different color for one or more of the keys, please specify the colors you want in the notes area during checkout.  In addition, Abloy keys can have an optional plastic key head.  Our Abloy Plastic Key Heads are found under the Accessories category.  The plastic key head does not block the color indicator dots.
